Senior School Schedule

Monday, September 1. Okay, so this is my third entry for today, but I thought it would be worth including the school schedule for the senior level school (about ages 15-17). There are three senior grades: senior 1 (my grade), senior 2 and senior 3 (during which they mostly prepare for university examination). Some students can come back for senior 4 if they don't do well enough on the exam and want to try again. The university entrance exam is nationwide and, I believe, is given only once each year. There is no such thing as individual university admission in China. The score a student receives will determine to which university he or she is assigned.

Daily Schedule at Zhuzhou Middle School Attached to Beijing Normal U.

6:00 Wake up
6:00 - 6:20 Washing up, brushing teeth
6:20 - 6:35 Morning exercise

2:25 - 5:05 Class periods 5, 6, 7: again each class 45 minutes with a 10 minute break between except for between periods 5 and 6 when there is an extra 5 minute period for eye exercises (eye relaxation).

5:15 - 6:00 Period 8 which is Activity period. This is when we would, for example, have English Corner.

The Junior level grades have essentially the identical schedule except they have only 2 study periods in the evening and go to bed earlier.
